Long Term Use of Blood Pressure Drugs Increases Lip Cancer Risk

There are plenty of medical studies that support that, as does the anecdotal evidence of many many people I know over the years and my own observations of them, close friends and relatives. Drugs can have very dangerous side effects and often don't live up to the claims they make.

In the case of great pain, which many people experience from various conditions, I thoroughly understand the need and desire to take a pain killer of one type or another.. I don't deny anyone the right to take those or any prescription pills according to their own judgement. If they want to fall back on their Doctor's advice, I submit that is not an advisable course usually. Unfortunately the upshot is often unanticipated and can be quite dire because of addiction and the general lack of knowledge of the effects of these drugs. When in pain, mental or physical, ANYTHING is better than pain. I did not say I am against all prescriptions drugs. It is just that am highly skeptical about the way they are prescribed with little understanding or monitoring of their consequences. I just have too much experience in this realm to think otherwise.

But for other, it might either be unnecessary or a downright menace. And to make it even more complicated, it is sometimes the case that a proprietary drug works fine for a patient whereas the "equivalent" generic drug has adverse side effects.

Antibiotics, childhood vaccinations, and more efficient ER/trauma services... Fact is, once you got past past your youth, and didn't work in a mine or some horrific sweatshop, or find yourself in the middle of a war, you could easily live into your 70's and 80's in the 1800's, and 1700's.

You need to be sick sometime and have a prescription drug save your life or save you from a lot of misery. The more I reread your post the bigger uniformed load I thought it was.

If the modern diet is so bad for us what accounts for the increase in longevity that modern humans have over more primitive cultures and diet? Modern science and what else?

You left us hanging. No good references to alternatives. Exercising and "good" nutrition (we actually aren't sure what that is) have had no effect on my conditions.

I'll start. My mom was told to take Fosomax for 6 years to prevent her bones from becoming brittle. She went to bed one night and decided to read a book before going to sleep. When she got up to turn off the light and turned around to go back to bed she broke in half. Her left femur split almost veritically and her right hip broke in a similar fashion. She layed there unconsious all night and most of the nest day until her neighbor found her the next evening. The reports for these kinds of injuries had already been circulating for several years before the injury. Part two. Found a lawyer that was offering to reprsent Fosomax injury cases. They held my moms case until 10 days before the statute of limitations ran out and then dropped her. Upon researching similar incidents I found a record of this kind of thing and even worse. Some people have just mysteriously disapeared or died in other cases involving different chemicals in years past. Its now my belief that big pharma controls many of the attorneys that finds "clients" like my mom only to sabotage there cases at a later time. Any attorneys interested in suing another attorney please look me up and i'll gladly provide more details. Ive also learned that if you take a generic version, you have no protection whatsoever (mfgs of generics cant be held responsible for the products they produce).

Earlier this year, a life-long friend of over 35 years committed suicide. At the time of her death, she was taking 26 prescription drugs, all of which were prescribed by one doctor. My friend was unable to function, unable to make rational decisions basic to her own personal care. Her siblings, in high alarm, contacted her physician months before the suicide and asked for side-by-side meetings with their sister and her physician. That met with stone-walling, even though the physician was made aware that those siblings all lived out of State and would be traveling great distances for such a meeting. Six of the prescribed medications had warnings about "suicidal thoughts." Frankly, the medical system failed and killed my friend.

They luuuuve it when you take expensive prescription drugs, though.

Most of the physical ailments people suffer from today is due to poor diet and lack of exercise. ALL prescription medication inhibits kidney and liver function and, over time, results in complete renal failure. Combine that circumstance with a lack of financial resources and a lot of people are going to suffer and die in the very near future. The one question everyone should ask themselves: Are we all being turned into a bunch of sociopaths?

No. The for profit health care system rewards illness. Sweden has better health care by every measure, but spend half as much per person, and everyone is covered. And legalize pot, that treats a bunch of stuff that Pharma products do poorly.

That is exactly why one needs to choose their health providers wisely. Most of their experience is easily found online. See where they trained, where they did residency. Ask around. Healthy friends of the same age often have good advice. If in doubt (or have a serious illness, or want a second opinion), go to a someone affiliated with a major medical school. If they have a problem with a diagnosis, there are lots of colleagues with whom they have daily contact. Ask questions. Make extensive notes of your symptoms. Take them with you when you see your Dr. There is lots of info on the internet related to your symptoms. Read it. Ask questions. Read about the drugs you have been given. Be aware of the side effects. Be informed. Take responsibility for your health. It is your best asset.
