The European Medicines Agency recently approved the drug Eurartesim, the first artemisinin combination therapy, for the treatment of uncomplicated malaria.
Eurartesim, dihydroartemisinin piperaquine, was developed as a joint project between the Italian Sigma Tau Group and the non-profit Medicines for Malaria Venture.
