Families who gave up canned foods and food and beverages prepared and packaged using plastic containers saw their levels of a hormone-disrupting chemical fall by 66%, a new study shows. All it took was three days of eating only freshly prepared, organic foods.

The chemical bisphenol A (BPA) is found in many kinds of plastic food packaging, such as some water bottles, food storage containers, and sealing wrap. It is also used to line the inside of food cans.

BPA is an endocrine-disrupting chemical that has been associated with a host of health problems, including heart disease, diabetes, breast cancer, and infertility in adults, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) in children.

“The study provides clear evidence that food packaging is the major source of people’s exposure to bisphenol A and the phthalate known as DEHP,” says study researcher Ruthann A. Rudel, MS, director of research for the Silent Spring Institute in Newton, Mass.

Forget the humans, how does this effect my cat?

I get my kitty the elite stuff (Nature’s Variety Instinct cans and Wellness pouches).

There was a recall on on specific factory for it’s cans, but it didnt make the mainstream media.

Andrew Lange writes a piece on the positive reasons for chemical seeds. It’s a must read.

Grow your own or go to council meetings and demand community gardens.

Get your suburban lot dirt tested first. Many construction sites buried their excess material in it. I can’t get rid of some previous owners left over creosote treated telephone pole sections.

GUESS WHAT OTHER BUSINESS BP IS IN…..LOGAN ALUMINUM. So, the next time you buy a can of beer or a soft drink in a can check and see if LOGAN ALUMINUM produced the aluminum b/c then BP made the can….cheers!

Another underreported story is the chemicals they are letting everyone use without knowing the dangers they may be. They believe a chemical is innocent until proven guilty.

Hopefully imported veggie cans from Europe don’t use this coating. If not, I’m
    in serious trouble.

Just be careful that you use organic fertilizers and not the stuff that they sell at Home Depot.

Everything is poison now. Everything. Even the potatoes – most of them ARE the insecticide BT – if a bug eats the plant it dies. Most of the corn is genetically modified Roundup Ready from the behemoth Monsanto. Monsanto is going to destroy this planet. One misfire and there goes an entire crop. Roundup-resistant weeds are already springing up in cornfields. BT is one of the more benign insecticides and when it is obsolete the world will have to turn to more harmful poisons.

We should all grow as much food as we can. Anyone can grow a tomato in a plant, a bean plant in a half-gallon milk carton. Please, do it for yourself so you won’t have to eat poison. Thanks for letting me preach.
